If you want to express love in French, one of the most important phrases to learn is how to say “I love you.”
The phrase “I love you” in French is je t’aime (pronounced zhuh tem).
Je t’aime → “I love you” (to one person).
Je vous aime → “I love you all” (to more than one person).
You can also add a little extra word for emphasis:
So, je t’aime is the most common way to say “I love you” in French, but there are beautiful variations you can use too.
The French verb aimer comes from the Latin amare, meaning to love — the same root that gives us English words like amorous and amiable.
